Okey folkens mye nytt, mye spennende! ZLs, Dp, DH, transfer osv

Okay folks a lot of news, exciting! ZLs, Baptism, The gift of the Holy Ghost, transfer etc.

This week we did the transfer! I will remain in Larnaca, but will be moved 10 minutes north, with Elder Scharff! Together we are the new Zone leaders, ie the leaders of the missionary work in Cyprus. It will be interesting. We've both been in Cyprus most of our mission. No one in the mission has been there longer than us. So now we can say rightly: "The Kings of Cyprus

My former partner, Menis, was moved to Nicosia. It's not so far away, so I'm happy that I will be able to see to see him at least every other week.

Emad was baptized last Friday! I was asked to write a small article about his conversion.

Emad?a 39 year old man from Egypt?met the missionaries at the seafront in Larnaca the 15th of November and was enlightened by the knowledge of the restored gospel through the Book of Mormon. He later received one in his native tongue, which is Arabic. He came with a broken heart and a contrite spirit and was both willing and ready to change his life. He soon understood that he would have to give up cigarettes?of which, at that time, he was smoking 40 a day. He came to every lesson ready to apply the new yet familiar truths of the gospel in his life.

As he progressed in knowledge and spiritual maturity he discovered a strength within him, amplified by priesthood blessings that he truly cherished, which he applied to overcome the addiction that had plagued most of his life. This he accomplished on the day of Christmas eve. He often expressed, "I am so happy now, I have been so depressed for so long, now I am truly happy"

He was always struck with excitement and bewilderment by how much sense everything made. Especially that the organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was identical to that of the primitive church. The response most frequently uttered by Emad during lessons was "that makes so much sense!" His humility was manifested in his trust and his willingness to accept guidance from two young men. His life was flipped upside-down and he accepted it, never questioning or hesitating.

He felt a little timid of the daunting January waters leading up to his baptism. However, on the day?13th of January?when everyone was standing at the seashore, he was the first one to leap out in the water to follow the example of Jesus Christ. He then came out of the water a new person after making his first covenant with his Father in Heaven.

The day of baptism by fire was met with much enthusiasm. As he received this remarkable gift he completed his baptism, and was so overwhelmed by the host of blessings that he shed some tears of happiness as he was welcomed into his new family.

There has been more than a privilege to be part of his spiritual journey. I also have the opportunity now to see his progression forward, as I continue to serve here in Larnaca. Also very happy with the opportunities to find more people that will accept Christ here.

It was a kick-start to the zone leadership role as we had to go over to Limassol to conduct an interview with Nikos, one that is going to be baptized next week. Everything was conducted in Greek and without any communication problems. It was a milestone for me with respect to the language. Nikos is also a wonderful person, and I will probably write a little more about him next week.

It was probably the most important thing that happened this week. Have a splendid week and all that...

Lastly. A picture with me with one more cat :)
