Weeey! God uke, gode nyheter!

M stikka igjen! s snakkes me neste uga!

Weeey! A Good week, good news!
Tomorrow we have a baptism! Well, it is not our "baptism". It is Elder Menis and Elder Breysse in Nicosia that teaches her, but she has to go down to Larnaca to be baptized as we have the seaside here. She asked me to perform the baptism, so I have to see if the white clothes still work and still fits.

We have two new friends who are very interested in learning more about the church that we will meet later today. We have invited them to activities before and they seem to have a great time with the members, and now they want to find out more, so we look forward to explain more what we believe in today.

We were in Limassol this week in the district meeting of Elder Rickard that was amazing!.

I made a really Norwegian sandwich here the other day. I had 2 toasted bread with brown cheese and in between  the brown cheese I had a Norwegian Kvikk Lunch. Very similar to a KitKat. Oh yes! It must certainly something that should be tested by those of you who have access to Norwegian products! Heavenly! So I have grandmother and grandfather to thank for the brown cheese and the kvikklunsj that I got in the Easter package last week. .

Now the plants have grown a lot, however still no tomatoes.

Here's a message I received from the district president here in Cyprus, which I always call Liam Neeson, since he looks a bit and sounds completely like him. Then after I sent him a message, I received this in response xD

Must split! Talk to you guys more next week!

    Hallo i luken!

Masse tradisjoner her. Ganske spesielt f oppleve.

    Snakkes! Peace

    Hello all!

This past week there has been a bunch of travel and then it was Easter! Athens and back, Nicosia and back, Limassol and back.

After we got home from Greece we had the Zone training on Friday in Limassol. It went incredibly well. It's always a problem keeping the time though. Since we have MLC which is a correlation meeting of 5-6 hours, we carry on and train for just 2.5 hours. It's always fun to work with new people when it comes to presentations and such. Me and Elder Searcy both work and function well together, so it's always fun to work with and have training together.

It's amazing to work with Emad. He grows and grows in faith and in knowledge. It's cool to see how the other members takes care of him and includes him in activities and socially. It's so wonderful to see!

The new missionary couple, Gunthers, is very cool people. They work hard and are very good with other people. They are brand new here in Larnaca, or even Cyprus. They became Branch president the first-week. Elder Gunther is learning Greek and actually he is already able to communicate a little in Greek! That is well received by members and all the Cypriots here.

We brought some young men and young women to play volleyball the other day, and then it started to rain heavily. But we continued to play in the rain! But it worked fine and was fun.

This last week was Easter! Which is the biggest celebration / holiday we have here in Cyprus. Larger than Christmas and everything else. We went to the Orthodox Church of Saint Lazarus here in Larnaca with our neighbor Vaso, Panayiotis and Georgia and then we met our Norwegian friends Thomas and Lisbeth at the church. In church, they have a candle that the priest gives out at midnight. It is supposed to be a candlelight coming from Jerusalem. The meaning is to spread the light to everyone and you can bring the light home, which is a blessing for the house and those who live in it. Lots of traditions here. Pretty special to experience.

I received an Easter package from Grandma and Grandpa with a lot of Easter goodies with milk chocolate and Norwegian chocolate, liver paste and Broun cheese . So then Easter came this year as well!

We visit our Norwegian friends Thomas and Lisbeth the other day. Lisbeth told me: Oh, what I would give to taste a good Freia milk chocolate! Then I pulled up one of the chocolate plates I received. She almost fell off her chair! Hahha. It was so fun!

Hope everyone had an amazing Easter and ate lots of goodies and chocolates!
Speak with you later! Peace and love to all of you.

    Halloen

    //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

    Hi my friends

Wow what a week. Normally I write in my journal and then I write part of it here in the blog, but this week there was no room to write in my diary. So I will have to wing it!

There were a lot of changes last week and all went well. Everyone ended up where they were suppose to end up in time by car, bus or by plane. I had a few days with Dagry and Van Eijzeren in Limassol. Where we taught my old investigators that I had when I served in Limassol awhile back. It was so cool. We also had with us Elder Donker, now known as Stephen. He was visiting and was member presented in the lesson, so that was weird: p

We also met on Kitsell, again, now known as Jack. He is also here in Cyprus with his family. They have Reidar Finnerud in their ward, so they were thrilled to tell about that.

We're still working with our Norwegian friends. They were actually taking part in our brachactivity last week, and we're going over there today so that I can introduce my new companion Elder Searcy to them. That will be very good. They are wonderful people, so it is always nice to visit them.

Me and Searcy are doing well. Incredibly busy, so it does not feel as if we have been serving together yet, but I expect that will come. Today we landed in Cyprus again after having been a day in Athens for a MLC meeting, and we have a lot to do on this week. There is nothing better than when you feel that you have a lot to do and that we must constantly strive to get time to do everything.

I also had a day along with Elder Craig, before Searcy arrived Larnaca. We were called up by a guy who wanted to meet us since he had seen the good example of others who believe in Christ and wanted to learn more about Christianity. We met with him and explained to him what he wanted to know. Craig traveled back to Paphos, where he will train a new missionary. Him and his new companion participated actually in a play about Christ as two Jewish soldiers. Hahha, imagine it, the third day as a missionary and then you will be thrown into a show as a Jewish soldier xD, Well, let's hope it did go ok.

We were so lucky to get to see three of the general conferences up to now. Fantastic. They are people who can talk and express themselves. Not least, the Spirit hit every one that really listens with spiritual insights and answers to prayers. I also got the opportunity to sit next to Emad, our still quite newly baptized friend from Egypt, and got to explained to him what was happening and why. He took everything to him, especially he liked Uchtdorf, he spoke so clearly about a topic that he greatly enjoyed.

    Halloen!

Jeg forblir i Larnaca for tjene her som soneleder over Kypros.

    HAIL FROM CYPRUS!

We can all calm down now, zone conference is over, we now have three months to forgive each other and then prepare for the next scripture war. Powerful testimonies were borne and inspiration was received. It was a spiritual boost so that we are now ready to go out and find 10 new friends every day if not more.

Our sensational Cypriot trainee caterpillars are now leaving their snug and cozy cocoon, flying with their own wings. It has been a joy to see the progress and the work you have accomplished. We are excited to see the miracles to come from the continuation of your service.

We are sadly compelled to give up the Wonderful Wonnacotts, the inCredible Cranneys and Righteous Sister Ramsay. Thank you so much for all the great work you have done. You have definitely raised the bar here in Cyprus with your examples. We are also pleased to welcome the Gunthers! Our newest reinforcements here in the field.

Let's make this coming month the month of conquest in Cyprus. Where we will work hard, we will sweat, we will triumph. "The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done." Let's make this coming month the month of conquest in Cyprus.

    Elders Scharff & Lundegard

I had to add a picture of how the different view people have of missionaries:

    ---------------------------------

    Hi

I guess you all understood at least the last part of the Norwegian blog this time :)

    Here is the rest

One more transfer this week. Today-Monday the third-I'm actually in Limassol, since my previous companion Elder Scharff traveled to the Athens. So now I'm here until Wednesday. My new companion is Elder Searcy from my MTC group, so it will be great! I have not seen so much of him since we left the MTC, so it will be fun to see him again. I remain in Larnaca to serve here as zone leader over Cyprus. That means I still get the opportunity to become better acquainted with the members and our friends here in Larnaca.
Another update here in Larnaca is that sister Ramsay is going home. She is now finish with her mission, and we will get two sister missionaries in her place. So they will be a trio for a while.

There's a whole lot that should be planned in a transfer. A real logistical puzzle. With missionaries around the island to be moved and no one can be alone, haha, this is why I am in Limassol. Good that we have some missionary couple who can help with transport.

It will be a busy week ahead. Not only due to the transfer, but we also get a new mission couple here in Larnaca, the Gunthers. Looking forward me to get to know them, and I expect that they need some help in the beginning regarding the culture, the city, the island and all that is new for them.

Was not much exciting to write about this week, most info if nothing else. I promise that there will be more next week!
