Javell, mitt siste transfer.

?

Alma 29:1-2

(President Heder and his family. If the nation only knew what great message we have for them!)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I had my last transfer last week. It is quite sick to think about it. Surreal. Only 6 weeks to go and I?m on Sola Airport. But before that, there are 1000 things to do!

Last week we were in Cyprus to teach the missionaries there. It went very well. I also had the opportunity to meet friends in Larnaca since we had an extra day there before we left home again. I visited Thomas and Lisbeth from Norway again. They have got a little playful kitten that they saved from the street. We saw Panayiotis and Georgia who invited us for dinner! Incredibly good food as usual. They are just the best. Very nice to see everyone again in church on Sunday. Most were very surprised to see us, they did not know we came to visit that weekend.

Now I'm serving with Elder Gore here in the office. He is amazing. Impossible not to smile around him. We work hard and we have fun. These weeks will go fast. We have set up even more things in our training studio! We call us "Guns n 'Roses". Since we are going to become muscular and big! Plus Elder Gore who is from Yorkshire must of course include the white Yorkshire rose in our slogan hahha.

This week we had a study together with President Heder, where we only studied the Atonement. It started that he took us into his office and we came to discuss the Atonement. President Heder expressed his frustrations about the elements he failed to fully comprehend. It was mostly about different pictorial languages from the scriptures and such. After that, he told us how great testimony he has about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He was in tears. We just sat there in awe. The spirit was so strong. The things he said and that we discussed. It was intense, deep and amazing. It made me understand the Atonement in ways I have never imagined before. A feeling that really filled me. Real happiness. It makes me want the same as Ammon, share this wonderful information about our Savior's Atonement with all I see:

?O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!

Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth.?

-
Alma 29: 1-2

But fortunately, this information / feelings / knowledge must come in person, and cannot be uploaded to a memory stick and shared with everyone. But it would have been so much easier. ;)

We picked up the brand-new missionaries who came this week. It made me and Gore think about when we came to the country. We were afraid and unsure and had no idea what happened around us. Not that long ago.

There were new ones who came in this week and others who traveled home after their 2 years of good service. Elder Scharff, Fagg, Scheltinga and Bramley. It was like having a glimpse 6 weeks into the future.

It has been a wonderful week, but I have no more time to explain everything that has happened, but I can say that life is rad. Have a wonderful week!

Selve dpen gikk fint. Det eneste var at varmtvannsberederen ikke fungerte. Haha standard...

Vi hadde Zone Conference p fredag her i Hellas.

Snakkes!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Theodore was baptized this Saturday! That was amazing.
It has been an honor to work with and teach him. An really cool guy. The lessons with him are absolutely incredible. He is always ready to learn more. At the beginning of each lesson, he literally has a list of questions that he can not wait to go through. Every time we finish a lesson and we're on our way out the door, I feel a special feeling in my stomach. Every time we close the door behind us and are on my way home, I can not stop smiling. Most times I have to smile because of a warm feeling that starts in my chest and that grows and grows to spread out throughout my body until I shake like an a-centered washing machine.

The baptism itself went well. The only thing was that the water heater did not work. Haha standard ... So it became a cold baptism! After the baptism, I asked about how the water was. He replied: The temperature of the water was the last thing I had on my mind. I had much more important things on mind. Hahha, he's just the best. It was Elder Scharff who performed the baptism, so that was good.

On Sunday, he completed the baptism by receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. He asked me to do it. I have to say I was a little nervous about it. Talking Greek is ok. But to give a blessing, that you do not plan what to say in advance, in front of a lot of Greeks, in their native language. Pluss it should be a wonderful spiritual experience as well. But it went very well.

We also gave a triple in Greek to Theodore before his baptism, where we had written our testimonies. Elder Scheltingas, Elder Scharffs and mine. The triple does not exist in Greek, but we took all the separate books and bound it at a bookbinder. Theodore was in tears.

Oh yes This week I set up a gym in our apartment. When I first arrived in Athens we had no weights, but now we have a lot. We collected weights from missionaries who did not use them and we brought everything home to the apartment, with help from Allens. We have a couple of manuals weighing 20kg, 17.5kg, 15kg, 12.5kg, 7.5kg and 5kg. Plus a bench with pole and weights. This is better than Christmas Eve! I hung up a Superman poster on the door with a great quote.

We had the Zone Conference on Friday here in Greece. The day before we were not prepared at all. We spent the whole of the previous day helping the Sister Training Leaders with their presentation. We had some ideas and such for our own presentation, but we had a whole hour to fill. But it worked out really good. The only thing was that by the end I got a migraine attack. It's very hard to stand in front of lots of people and teach them while trying to smile and being enthusiastic when feeling like dying. In a short break, I said a small prayer and asked is God could take away the migraines. Than I thought that God rarely lets our cups pass us if we can cope. So I asked instead for strength to teach in a good way and that the message should not be lost in communication problems due to migraines. Just before I got up to continue the presentation, I thought my eyes would pop out of all the pressure inside my head. But when I started talking everything suddenly it became much better and I managed to convey what I wanted. Just before I sat down, everything came back. It was actually a little miracle for me.

This week we will do the same conference in Cyprus, but this time we've been through everything already. So really looking forward to it. Next week will be incredibly busy from Monday of. SO doubt that there will be any blog then. Elder Scharff is going home and a new assistant will be coming into the office, so much happening.

Have a wonderful week! See ya!

Denne uken hadde Theodore dpsintervjuet hans!

S snakkes me itte dpen!

    --------------------------------

This week I cut Elder Scharff hair again, but this time it was a bit more interesting. I switched between different sizes on the machine for the haircut, I was using 7mm. Suddenly, as I continued to cut, there was a more resistance in the cutting machine. I looked down and saw that there was not the 7-digit but rather the 1-number. I looked up again and yes, there was a nice rectangle with no hair xD. It do not show that very good in the pictures, But a little square with no hair did shine bright the first days ^^ We'll see if he trusts me enough to fix it when his hair has grown a little : p

If this was not enough, one night I put on some white clothes in the washing machine half an hour before bed time. Suddenly I heard my companion shout out. What is this? There was water throughout our hallway that came from the bathroom. The whole bathroom was covered with water. I had forgotten to put the drain pipe in the bathtub so that all the water that ended up on the floor ... So we had to remove all the water to save the floor. Not my most prestigious week to say it the least: p well well.

This week, Theodore had his baptism interview! He was quite nervous. He looked at the interview as a test, even though we had gone through the interview in advance. After it was finished, he was all fired up. Flew almost. He also brought a friend to the church on Sunday, Irini. He is just so ready for his baptism on this Saturday. Elder Scharff shall perform the baptism. It is his first one in the water. Very good for him now as he only has 2 weeks left of his mission. It will be a good way to end the mission! I will be the witness and hold one of the talks. Here in Athens we have a large church building with baptismal font and everything, so it will not be in the Mediterranean this time. But it's gonna be amazing. I'm so looking forward to it.

Gg, one of the older members invited us, two other members and Theodore at dinner. Hahha, that was an experience. She is very .. unique, very lovely. She is as absolute like all grandmothers here in Greece, but she is also a Mormon, so it's a bit of a combo. But it was a good experience for Theodore. He saw pictures of her family who are Mormons living around the world gathered around the temple, and it made a big impression on him.

We had a surprise birthday visit for one of the members here in Athens, Vera. I made cookies. Elder Dagry had made a whole bunch of French crepes. Spros and Tasos had bought a cake and some other stuff. I think she was very pleased with the visit, although she was not very prepared for any visit at all.

Have a precious week all of you! Talked to you after the baptism!
