First week in the leadership, and the west side of the island is still intact, so I?m happy;)

You will be well tested on the whole range of emotions when you are on your mission. There is nothing more heartbreaking than when someone who has studied church for a while and seems like they finally begin to take significant steps, choose to dissociate themselves with the church. Likewise, there is nothing that feels better than when others choose to come closer to Christ through His gospel. All happened this week.

Great news! Tony and Beth who lived here previously moved back, and this time for good! Tony was the guy that did not have any plans to become a member at all, but which we taught here in Paphos and baptized earlier this year. They moved to England early this summer, but now they are back. Both have a very strong faith, even if it is a new faith, and they have a great desire to help us with missionary work. It's good to have them back. They are needed here in little Paphos branch.

It's different being a leader. One has more responsibility, not only for oneself but everyone else in the district. There are some things that needs to be followed up and fixed, but I have faith that it will be fine. I had a good education in Larnaca this week. Where I exchanged with one of the zone leaders, who were incredibly good and I learned a lot from how they do things and make things happen. Among other things, we had a lesson with a family from Crete that will in a few weeks be baptized. We also had a great Skype meeting with all the other zonal and district leaders of GAM.

Haha, we had an interesting lesson with Αλέξανδρος and Στέλιος this week. We were in a lesson with Αλέξανδρος when we received a message from Στέλιος. He asked if we could come over in about 15 minutes. We said that we were coming over in about 20 minutes since we had a lesson with Αλέξανδρος. Ten minutes later Στέλιος came over and sat down with us and we had a lesson with all four of us. It was a bit strange, because they are on the different levels when it comes to the gospel. haha. Στέλιος was eager to come to church on Sunday, but he did not want to come without his buddy. So he persuaded his friend to come this coming week. Hahha, it was fun to watch. The roles were somehow a little reversal.

We went wandering along the road when a big praying mantis suddenly appeared. I took up the camera to take a picture, when he suddenly came towards me, jumped up on my leg and continued up to my shoulder. It was almost a little creepy, but the picture was worth it;)

S p norsk

De trengs her i lille Paphos menighet.

Surprise, lots of new stuff! Stay tuned!!.

This week we had as mentioned last week, a lot that happened.

Emergency transfer! My companion Dagry had to move to Limassol due to complications another places in the mission. He traveled this morning. Elder Kitsell who only have 5 weeks left on his mission, is now here in Kato Paphos and is my new companion. I was also called as the new district leader. Hahha That sure came as a surprise, because last transfer was last week and normal changes should have happened then. Really sad that me and Dagry had split up, we had such a good relationship and a good internal humor. But that it how it is. Should be good to work with Elder Kitsell as well, even though if it is only for five weeks.

Being a Missionary can be hard work

We had specialized training on Friday which was really good. It was right after the training that President Heder were to interview us both at once, when he gave us the news of emergency transfer. I do not think that Elder Dagry was that happy with the news, but he was still very willing and positive to it. We had so much that really works, lots of people that we have found that have good progress toward baptism.

On Saturday and Sunday we were in Larnaca for the district conference. Incredibly good conference. President Brown was there, President Heder and President Orbano of the Europe presidency. Patricia (one of our investigator) came all the way from Paphos to take part, which I think she really needed. It was really a boost for all those that were present.

We stayed in the abandoned sister apartment in Larnaca.

Here is a jacket that I found in the sister apartment.

This week we did not have that much time in our hometown, but we still had plenty of good lessons. We had two lessons with Αλέξανδρος which was really good. It's good to see how the understanding of the gospel have such a great impact on their lives. I had just studied ways to bring the Holy Spirit in during a lesson. I went over all the things I had learned, read together in the Scriptures, pray a silent prayer, bear witness etc. We did both do this, more than once. It was inconceivable to feel how the Spirit was present, and how he began to understand!

Elder Bramley had to crawl down in manhole covers because he dropped the phone on the ground and the battery fell down, haha.

On Sunday evening we met with Στέλιος. It was our last chances to teach together as a companionship, me and Dagry. Wow, what a lesson. Me and Dagry went from Στέλιος with the best feeling in the world. The feeling you get when the spirit works through you as a missionary. I have no other description than "over the moon". Dagry said he felt he was on the clouds. It makes all the effort, all the rejections, all the sweat, time, everything so worth it and more. Looking forward to this upcoming week and the next few lessons we have this week with them. Yess!

Although it was not so cool to spit up with Elder Dagry, it was perhaps the best week so far in my mission. I have felt the spirit so strongly throughout the week. What a great feeling that is.

    Have a bright week everybody!

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    Surprise, masse nytt! hold fast.

Jeg gikk over alle punktene, lese sammen i skriftene, be en stille bnn, bre vitnesbyrd osv.

Jeg har ingen annen beskrivelse enn "over the moon".

Another 6 weeks transfer has past. And I'm still stationed here in Paphos :D

That's what I was hoping for. We've worked hard, and there are plenty of things happening very soon, so I'm very happy that I will stick around for six weeks more.

Last week was good. I got to celebrate my 20 year birthday and that was great. The Senior couple made us a real American breakfast. We eat so much that I did not have to eat for the rest of that day. Those Americans have some proper size on their breakfast I can tell you. And they topped it up with Cake and ice to desert. Are those Americans eating this for breakfast often I wonder?

And Drones. Yes. Haha, one of the other elders here in Paphos received a package from home where his brother put in a drone. So on Sunday we had to stop by the other elders for a visit, and clearly we had to try out the drone and fly around in the apartment;)

Ugh, I do not know if I like to tell about the visit that we had, but ok, I will. We traveled some distance to visit an investigator. Lets call him Obelix, since he really resembles Obelix. We always met at church for lessons until now. Puhh .. I expected a somewhat unorderly house, but this was ... absolutely terrible. It probably was not washed for several months. Ants and bugs everywhere. The worst must have been the smell. It must have been the combination of dog pooh everywhere and a toilet which nearly knocked me to the ground, so you can say it was some experience : p

We have no plans to take the long tour out to Obelix again. It is much better to teach him at church.

Other then this episode, the week was unbelievable. Again lots of good lessons. Especially good since those we teach starts to read the Book of Mormon regularly. It changes everything. Absolutely amazing actually what it does to them. Mostly because when they actually are doing something actively to find the answers to the questions they have. When they do this, they get the Holy Spirit in their lives. They start to understand things that they have struggled with for so long. If only everyone could understand how important it is to read regularly and actually pray for answers. For those who finally starts to understand the importance, they have suddenly a different atmosphere and attitude in their life.

I played chess with Dagry for the first time. A long game, lasted a few days, but I'm still unbeaten on my mission ^^ Accept one game I had with Sate, the pro chess player. I never finished that game with Sate, but I must admit, he would have beaten me in the playoffs, easily.

Haha. Lastly I must end with a guy that we often pass by. A very engaging guy. He has zero interest in the gospel, but we have had some conversations with him. Second time we saw him, he cried out to us:  eyy! Come here. And then he said to his friends, ?they are Jehovah's Witnesses!? So we had to explain pretty quickly that we were not JW. Next time we walked past him, he shouted again. Eyy! Come over here. These Christian witness. hahha xD Fair enough, I?ll go for that.

I have to tell you guys of something funny last transfer that I forgot to mention. Me and Rantaniemi was in the other elders apartment to pick up something. Me and Rantaniemi spoke with Kitsell. James walked by while he ate a dark cake chocolate.
Kitsell: What are you doing? We need that tomorrow for the cake we have to make!
    James: But I'm hungry.
Kitsell: Take a slice of bread or something, you cannot eat up the ingredients for the cake, we need it! Moreover, you don?t like dark or cake chocolate.
James: I do not like it, but it's okay. * Continuing to eat the chocolate *
    Kitsell ..............................
Hahha I almost fell to the ground. Hilarious to be in the present during the conversation between Kitsell being so frustrated and James 100% calm and neglectful.

Next week will be incredibly busy. We have a district meeting in Limassol, and then specialized training in Limassol and a district conference in Larnika for 2 days. so we need to work as much as we can and use the time we have in Paphos. ?All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us? - A smart guy with big hat;)

    I wrote a wrong e-mail a couple of weeks ago. My e-mail is jlundegard@myldsmail.net

    _____________________________________________________________________________

Drones. Yes.

Phh.. Jeg forventet et noenlunde uryddig hus, men off... Helt forferdelig.

Kom her. Eyy! Kom over her.

*Fortsetter spise p sjokoladen*

    Kitsell: ...

Hahha jeg datt nesten i bakken. Hysterisk morsomt ver tilstede under den samtalen. Kitsell helt fortvilet og James 100% neglisjerende.

Neste uke blir utrolig travel. "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." - En smart fyr med stor hatt ;)

Jeg gav feil e-mail for et par blogger siden: jlundegard@myldsmail.net. Koselig hre fra dere...
